This is the only pen and ink sketch in this book, which Turner has mostly filled with hasty pencil notations of scenery at Brighton, Shoreham, Arundel and Petworth. Once again, he has resorted to making quick economic notes about the colours he saw, rather than actually bringing out his own set of watercolours to recreate the effect.
