Although created from the limited palette that Krasner employed throughout her Night Journeys series, Cool White transmits a feeling of energetic, conflicted emotion. Krasner's Night Journeys series was made as a result of the artist's bouts with insomnia from 1959-1963, during which time she painted only at night.
