Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this vigorous sketch appears to show at least one sailing boat at sea. There is a slight continuation on folio 41 verso opposite ( D35560 ), where ‘Cold Light’ may be noted above cliffs, probably on the Channel coast.
