加里·保罗 Gary Paul
Gary Paul was born in the suburb city of Chicago, Aurora, Illinois. He started his Catholic school education at Marmion Military Academy, then to St. Thomas University and then attended the home of "The Fighting Irish", Notre Dame. He continued on to flight school at AG Aviation Academy in Reno, NV and became a professional pilot flying everything from Lear Jets to Boeing 737's. He raced at "Road America" and other race tracks in the mid-west. He advanced to racing the GT-3 and a specially prepared Cougar GT for the Chicagoland Mercury/Ford dealers, where he made many "podium finishes". While he was piloting a Boeing 737 across the United States and South America, he wrote and directed his first action film series of film shorts in the 1980s, "Backlot" for HBO at Los Colinas studios. He was then hired by Oscar winning Director, Mike Nichols, to coordinate the action sequences in his first big feature for the 1983 hit, Silkwood. The renowned Action Director went on to direct action sequences on 70 feature films such as "The Crow-Salvation", "The Crow-Wicked Prayer", "The Way of the Gun", "Catch that Kid", "Crash and Burn" and many others. He used his special mechanical and creative flair to compose car scenes with high energy and a fast paced feel. After 25 years of directing high-impact action scenes and sequences, Gary Paul has been recognized for his cinematic contributions and has now moved up into the Directors chair, where he will be directing his 1st full-length action movie feature in 2015.
