I became a Colourist around 1995 working for a Commercials Post House in Soho, London using one of the only DaVinci systems in London at that time. Since then I have learned and used many Telecine and Non-Linear Grading systems working on a mixture of TV Commercials, Cinema release feature films, TV Shows and Music Videos. In 2001 I joined Digital Film Lab in London to help them develop their Digital Intermediate business in UK. I was arguably the first Colorist in UK to complete entire digital intermediates; a very exciting time to be involved. After three busy years of D.I. movies I was invited to join Moving Picture company (MPC) in London using Quantel iQ to add to the expertise of their reknowned film department and got the opportunity to work 2K 'non-linear' from an early stage. We competed-for and graded many top European and Hollywood feature films. Together with MPC's amazing film effects department we completed some really great movies. After leaving London in 2005 I spent a few years freelancing around the world. I joined Quantel later to help them develop and promote their Pablo Neo 4K system and travelled extensively training their customers and promoting their post and 3D stereoscopic products to international markets. Recently I have been more focussed on the superbly refined and powerful Davinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design. I’ve provided demonstration and training using the very latest unreleased products and also provided feedback for future improvements (it’s just icing on the cake as the system is already quite outstanding and set to become a non-linear industry standard.)
