乔纳森.巴恩斯，英国学者，先后毕业于伦敦城市学院，牛津大学贝利奥尔学院。后在牛津任教25年。1994年转投日内瓦大学，2002年执教于巴黎索邦大学。他一直是学界公认的古希腊哲学权威，先后编订过《亚里士多德文集》(两卷本)等一系列学术著作。1999年，当选美国艺术与科学学院荣誉外籍院士；2012年，柏林洪堡大学授予其荣誉博士学位。
