1965年出生於浙江省縉雲縣，現任加拿大西門菲莎大學（Simon Fraser University）傳播學院全球傳播政治經濟學加拿大國家特聘教授、中國清華大學新聞與傳播學院特聘教授。主要著作有Sustaining Democracy? Journalism and the Politics of Objectivity、Media, Market, and Democracy in China、《傳播與社會：政治經濟與文化分析》等。

譯者簡介

吳暢暢

1980年出生於湖南省衡陽市，復旦大學新聞學院廣播電視系博士畢業，復旦大學歷史系博士後，現任華東師範大學傳播學院新聞系副教授。主要著作有《傳媒、現代性與工人階級主體性──以〈工人日報〉(1949-1992)為例》，已出版譯著有《新記錄：批判性導論》、《數位化衰退》等。
