本变种与原变种的区别在于叶片下面毛被薄，多少粘结，两层，上层毛被淡棕色，老时呈网隙分裂，显出白色紧密的下层毛被。花期6月。

产云南西北部和西藏东南部。生于海拔3 500-4 560米的高山针叶林缘或灌丛中。模式标本采自云南德钦。
