Hannes Otto was the first South African ever accepted to Juilliard's Drama Division, where he was awarded the Michel Saint-Denis Prize for exceptional ability, innovation, and leadership. He went on to star in the critically acclaimed Afrikaans feature, Kanarie (Berlinale, Toronto Inside Out, OUTfest, NewFest, GLAAD Media Award nomination). His first project as a producer was a web series called Sink Sank Sunk (Seriesfest, Bentonville Film Festival, NewFest), starring Academy Award Nominee, Laura Linney. His second producing endeavor, Human Interest, went on to win the Best Digital Short category at SeriesFest in 2019. In 2020 he co-founded Wolflight Films, a company with a focus on emerging voices and producing African content for international audiences.
