　　Much closer the the Italian Neo-Realism in its mood and subject matter, rather than to the canon of black series, A Day Without The Sun tell the story about a lonely and a bit sad man, lost in urban realit. It brings to mind Umberto D, a film by Vittorio de Sica. Because of the staged scenes it is not a "pure" documentary.
